FAQ: Returns and refunds

To be eligible for a return and refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Items removed from the manufacturers packaging cannot be returned. The return must be initiated within 7 days of receiving the item. Returning an item is not a guarantee of a refund. International returns are not accepted. A 25% restocking fee will be applied to accepted returns.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items:

Certain types of items cannot be returned under any circumstance. We do not accept returns for clothing, batteries, liquids or hazardous materials. 

Discounted items:

Sale, clearance, bundle deals, and any item(s) that result in a discount are Final, and not eligible for a refund. This includes items that are purchased using coupon discount codes, loyalty points or any other type of offer which results in a discounted price.

Returns Process:

To initiate a return, please login to your customer account and select the eligible item(s) you want to return. Your return must be shipped back to us no later than 14 days after the return is approved. If after 14 days, we do not receive notification from the shipping carrier that the return has been shipped, your return will be closed. At this point it will no longer be possible to return the item(s). Furthermore, the item(s) will no longer be eligible for a return.

Return Shipping:

Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. This will be deducted from the refund owed. For your convenience, a return shipping label will be provided. RC Pit Lane is not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in return transit. Items should be packed appropriately to assure no damage is incurred during shipping.

Damaged Package Claims:

If you have received your order, and your package was damaged in transit, please contact us immediately within 48 hours of receiving your package. Customers with damaged packages can file a claim directly with us. Damaged product(s) must be shipped back to us for verification. We may also require photos be taken of damaged packages and/or parts. Photos of damaged goods will help us expedite the process if your claim. International customers must file a claim directly with the carrier.

Lost Package Claims:

If you suspect that your package has been lost in transit, please contact us immediately. All packages are insured for 100% of the value. If your package is confirmed lost by the carrier, we will either replace or refund the full amount of your order. We aim to close all claims within 30 days. However, this depends on the length of time the carrier takes to complete their investigation. A refund or replacement cannot be issued until the carrier confirms the package is lost. Packages that have a confirmed delivery status are not eligible for a claim. International customers must file a claim directly with the carrier. 

PayPal Claims:

Opening a claim through PayPal for lost or damaged packages will significantly delay the claim process. Please contact our customer service team to open a claim to ensure a quick resolution.

Defective Merchandise Policy:

If you receive a defective item, you must notify us immediately. Some manufacturers may prefer to handle issues directly. In this situation, you will be required to contact the manufacturer. Warranty only applies as described by the product manufacturer and on products accompanied by a dated proof of purchase. Warranty service or replacement decisions are at the discretion of RC Pit Lane and/or the manufacturer. International customers must contact the manufacturer directly. 

Exchanges:

Exchanges are not permitted. 

Store Credits:

We do not issue store credits.

Pre-order Refunds:

When you purchase a pre-order, you are buying an out-of-stock or soon-to-be-available product not yet in inventory. We may collect no payment, partial deposit/payment, or full payment at the checkout depending on the product(s). For orders where no payment of a partial deposit/payment is collected, we may store your payment details and charge the full or remaining payment at a future date. Once the pre-order has been fulfilled, the order cannot be cancelled.

Order Processing Time:

Most orders ship the same business day (excluding weekends, holidays or otherwise stated). 

Domestic (USA) Shipping Methods:

We offer a variety of shipping options to meet your needs, including standard, expedited, express and free shipping. The available shipping methods and estimated delivery times will be displayed during the checkout process.  Please note we do not offer a pick-up service or walk-ins. All orders must be shipped. 

Tracking Information:

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. This allows you to monitor the progress of your shipment in real time.

Shipping Costs:

Shipping costs are calculated based on product dimensions, packaging requirements and total weight shipped weight. The shipping cost and available services will be displayed at checkout.

We proudly offer discounted international shipping to select destinations worldwide. International shipping rates and delivery times vary based on the destination. These will be presented at the checkout. We currently ship to the following international destinations from the USA:

With our enhanced UPS international shipping program, you can enjoy cheaper, faster and even more reliable delivery of products right to your door. 

*To make your experience even smoother, we collect all taxes and duties at checkout.  This means no surprise fees or customs charges upon arrival at the port of entry—what you see at checkout is all you need to pay. Your package is delivered straight to your door, cleared through customs, ensuring a smooth and seamless shopping experience.

Free Shipping:

We are pleased to offer Economy Free Shipping to our valued customers! Please review the details of our Economy Free Shipping Policy below to understand the terms and conditions:

Eligibility

  • Minimum Purchase Requirement: Economy Free Shipping applies to orders that meet or exceed $90 before taxes.  
  • Exclusions: Product bundles, pre-orders, oversize items, hazmat, international orders, team driver and dealer orders.
  • Shipping Locations: This offer is valid for standard deliveries within the United States mainland (lower 48 states). 

Shipping Method

  • Orders qualifying for Free Economy Shipping will be shipped using our economy shipping method which typically takes 3–6 business days depending on location. 

Important Considerations

  • Economy Shipping may involve consolidated routes and multiple carriers, which helps keep costs low but can extend delivery times.
  • This option is best suited for non-urgent deliveries. If you need faster service, please choose another shipping option at the checkout.
  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. It is the responsibility of the carrier service to deliver your package on the date/time.

Shipping Restrictions:

Certain products such as batteries and oils require special hazmat shipping. Oversize products such as drift/on-road bodyshells and bags require special shipping. Options for these products will be presented at the checkout. These products do not qualify for free shipping.

Freight Forwarders:

We do not ship to freight forwarders. Orders that have a freight forwarder as the shipping address will be cancelled. 

FAQ: Pre-orders

Some items in our store may be offered to you as a pre-order or subscription. This cancellation policy lays out how you can change or cancel these kinds of purchases. 

Pre-orders:

When you purchase a pre-order, you are buying an out-of-stock or soon-to-be-available product not yet in inventory. Depending on the pre-order purchasing option(s) stated on the product page, we will either collect full payment immediately or partial payment at the checkout. For partial payments, your payment method will be stored, and the remaining balance will be charged when the product becomes available. Once the pre-order has been fulfilled, you can't cancel the order. See our returns policy for more details on returns and refunds. 

Pre-order delays:

We strive to ensure that pre-orders are fulfilled as promptly as possible. However, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally cause delays. This policy outlines the steps we take in such instances to keep our customers informed and provide solutions.

1. Notification of Delay

If a delay occurs, we will notify you via the email address provided at the time of purchase. Notifications will include:

  • The reason for the delay (e.g., production delays).
  • The updated estimated shipping date.

2. Options Available for Customers

In the event of a delay, you will have the following options:

  • Wait for Fulfillment: Your order will be kept in the queue, and we will prioritize its shipment as soon as possible.
  • Cancel for a Full Refund: You may cancel your pre-order at any time before shipment and receive a full refund to your original payment method.

Pre-order and in stock items purchased together (Domestic orders):

In stock items that are purchased at the same time as a pre-order will be shipped separately via the most economical shipping method. Only the pre-ordered item(s) will be shipped by the method selected at the checkout. If you require a specific shipping service for the in-stock item(s), please place a separate order.

Pre-order and in stock items purchased together (International orders):

In stock items that are purchased at the same time as a pre-order items will be shipped together. If you require a specific shipping service for the in-stock item(s), please place a separate order.

Subscriptions:

When you purchase a subscription, you'll receive repeat deliveries. These are based on the subscription duration and frequency that you select. Your payment details will be stored securely, and you'll be charged for each of these deliveries, unless you choose to pay in advance. Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration. If you don't want to renew a subscription you can cancel it. If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any time. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order. You can manage your subscription from there.
